Feature Description
Some features of the management software Easy.School are opened by the browser as pop-up windows, separate from the main tab. These include, for example, print preview, report and list downloads, the generation of tax documents (invoices, receipts, proforma), and some modal windows that the system opens when you click on certain buttons.
All major browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi) block pop-up windows by default to protect users from intrusive advertising. However, this blocking also prevents the opening of legitimate windows generated by Easy.School.
This guide explains how to authorize pop-ups for the Easy.School domain only, while keeping the block active for all other sites.
Note: enabling pop-ups only for Easy.School is the recommended solution. It is not necessary to disable the general browser block.
How to Tell if Pop-ups are Blocked
Typical symptoms include:
You click a button like "Print", "Download", "Generate PDF", or "Export" and nothing happens.
A small blocked window icon or a message like "Pop-up blocked" appears in the address bar of the browser.
A modal window does not open when it should.
A report or generated document is neither downloaded nor displayed.
If you notice any of these symptoms, it is very likely that the browser is blocking Easy.School's pop-ups.
Which Address to Authorize
Each school using Easy.School has its own subdomain of the type:
https://schoolname.easy.school
To authorize your school, you need to copy the address that appears in the address bar of the browser when you are inside the management software (e.g., https://iroma.easy.school, https://lamiapazza.easy.school, etc.).
Alternatively, if you manage multiple campuses or want to authorize all Easy.School subdomains at once, you can use the pattern:
[*.]easy.school
This pattern is valid on Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi).
Quick Method (Recommended): Authorize from the Address Bar
This is the fastest way and works on almost all desktop browsers. It should be used after the browser has already blocked a pop-up (i.e., after clicking a button that should have opened a window but did not).
Stay on the Easy.School page.
Look at the address bar at the top: to the right of the URL, a window icon with a small "x" (or a small "i", depending on the browser and version) will appear. Hovering over it with the mouse shows a message like "Pop-up blocked".
Click on the icon.
A small box will open with two options. Select "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from [school address]" (or equivalent text: "Always allow", "Allow pop-ups from this site").
Click "Done" or "Save".
Reload the page (press F5 on Windows/Linux, Cmd + R on Mac) and repeat the action that previously did not work.
If the quick method is not available (some browsers do not show the icon) or if you prefer to proceed manually, follow the specific procedure for your browser in the following sections.
Google Chrome (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Step-by-step Procedure
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right, click on the three vertical dots icon (menu "Customize and control Google Chrome").
From the menu, select "Settings".
In the left column, click on "Privacy and security".
On the main page, click on "Site settings".
Scroll down to the "Content" section and click on "Pop-ups and redirects".
Find the "Custom behaviors" section → "Can send pop-ups and use redirects".
Click the "Add" button to the right of that entry.
In the field that opens, enter your school's address (example:
https://iroma.easy.school) or the pattern[*.]easy.schoolto authorize all subdomains.Click the "Add" button to confirm.
Return to Easy.School and reload the page (F5 or Cmd + R).

[*.]easy.school. If you manage multiple campuses, you must add each subdomain one by one as an exception.
Safari (macOS)
Step-by-step Procedure
Open Safari.
Open the management software Easy.School in a tab (it is important to already be on your school's page, as Safari manages pop-up windows per active site).
In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on "Safari".
Select "Settings…" (on older Macs, it may be called "Preferences…"; keyboard shortcut: Cmd + ,).
In the window that opens, click on the top tab "Websites".
In the left column, scroll down and click on "Pop-up Windows".
On the right, in the "Currently open websites" section, you will find your school's subdomain listed (e.g.,
iroma.easy.school).To the right of the site name, click on the drop-down menu and select "Allow".
Close the settings window: the change is saved automatically.
Return to Easy.School and reload the page (Cmd + R).
Note: Safari retains this authorization between sessions. The site will now appear in the "Configured Websites" section of the pop-up settings.
Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and Other Chromium-based Browsers
All browsers built on the Chromium engine (Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc, etc.) have a pop-up settings menu very similar to that of Google Chrome. The procedure is as follows:
Open the browser menu (usually three lines icon or three dots in the top right, or the browser logo).
Go to "Settings".
Look for the entry "Privacy and security" or "Privacy".
Click on "Site settings" (or equivalent entry).
Click on "Pop-ups and redirects".
Add your school's address (e.g.,
https://iroma.easy.school) or the pattern[*.]easy.schoolto the "Allow" or "Can send pop-ups" list.Reload the Easy.School page.
Brave has an additional blocking level called "Shields" (the orange/gray shield in the address bar). If an action does not work even after authorizing pop-ups, click on the shield icon above the URL and disable the "Shields" for the Easy.School site only.
Mobile Device Browsers
The Easy.School management software is designed primarily for use on computers (coordinator side and educator side via desktop browser). Native apps are available on mobile devices:
Easy Family for family members
Easy Staff for educators
The apps do not have pop-up issues because they do not use the browser.
However, if you still want to use the management software from the mobile browser, here are the main procedures:
Chrome on Android
Open Chrome.
Tap the three dots icon in the top right.
Tap "Settings".
Tap "Site settings" and then "Pop-ups and redirects".
Turn on the switch (or add the exception for your school's site if the option is available).
Safari on iPhone and iPad
On iOS/iPadOS, it is not possible to allow pop-ups for a single site: the block is global.
Open the device's "Settings" app.
Scroll and tap "Safari" (or "Apps" → "Safari" on newer iOS versions).
Find the entry "Block pop-up windows" and turn off the switch.
When you finish using Easy.School, you can reactivate it for other sites.
How to Check if Pop-ups Have Been Enabled
After completing the procedure for your browser, reload the Easy.School page and try a function that opens a pop-up window, for example:
Go to Logs → Educator Log (educator side) and click on the printer icon in the top right: the modal window for downloading the report should open.
Or, from the coordinator side, go to Administration and export a document: the PDF should open correctly in a new window.
If the window opens normally, the enabling was successful.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to enable pop-ups for the entire browser? No. It is sufficient (and safer) to authorize pop-ups only for your school's subdomain, keeping the general block active for all other sites.
If I change computers, do I need to redo the procedure? Yes. Pop-up settings are saved on the individual browser of the individual computer. If you access Easy.School from a new device or a different browser, you will need to repeat the authorization.
Do I need to do this from both the coordinator side and the educator side? No. The authorization applies to the domain of the school, regardless of the profile you access with. Once the site is authorized, both the coordinator side (light blue menu) and the educator side (green menu) will be able to correctly open pop-up windows.
I authorized pop-ups but a function still does not open. Try these steps:
Reload the page with F5 (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + R (Mac).
Check that you have authorized the exact address that appears in the address bar (including
https://).Make sure you do not have browser extensions (ad blockers, third-party anti-pop-up, antivirus with web protection) that may block the window. Try temporarily disabling them.
If you are using Brave, disable the Shields on the Easy.School site.
Try accessing in incognito mode / private browsing to see if the problem is related to installed extensions.
Are pop-ups dangerous? Advertising pop-ups can be. However, Easy.School's pop-ups are legitimate windows generated by the management software itself (for prints, downloads, confirmation modals) and pose no risk. For this reason, it is recommended to keep the general block of the browser active and to authorize only Easy.School as an exception.
Do I need to enable anything on the Easy Family / Easy Staff app? No. Mobile apps do not use the browser and are not subject to pop-up blocking. This guide only pertains to using the management software from a browser.
